Priyanka Chopra to sign two Bollywood films by January


Priyanka Chopra, who is back in Mumbai for the Christmas and New Year season, announced that she will be doing two Bollywood films next year. The ‘desi girl’ made her first public appearance after arriving home at the Stardust Awards on Monday night where she revealed her plans.  

Priyanka mentioned that she has some time between the shoots of her American drama series ‘Quanico 2’, and during this time, she will focus on her Bollywood projects. She added that she will give nod to two films by January.

Talking to a wire service at the awards night, Priyanka said, “I will be doing two Bollywood films next year. I have come to India to decide on those films. By the end of January, I will finalise which those films will be.”

Priyanka’s last Bollywood film was Prakash Jha’s crime drama ‘Jai Gangaajal’ which was her only release in this year. Since her debut, she has had at least two releases every year till 2015. Her next big-screen release is ‘Baywatch’, which marks her Hollywood debut. The action-comedy starring Dwayne Johnson among others, is set to hit screens on May 26, 2017.

Priyanka revealed that the team of ‘Baywatch’ will also be coming to India to promote the film. "We have made a global plan for the promotion of Baywatch, of which India is a part. So, yes, the Hollywood cast will come to India to promote the movie," the actress said.

Reportedly, during the winter break in India, Priyanka will be shooting an episode for Karan Johar’s popular chat show ‘Koffee with Karan 5’, and this time she will be going solo. She will also be shooting campaign for her endorsement deals and also do photoshoots for magazines, besides meeting some filmmakers for discussing and finalising scripts.
