Spotted: Priyanka shoots for ‘Mary Kom’ in Manali

Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra has reached Himachal Pradesh’s Manali town to shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Omung Kumar directed biopic based on Olympic boxing champion, Mary Kom.

According to media reports, Priyanka landed at Kullu’s Bhuntar airport on Thursday and went down straight to Manali town. The actress is staying at Holiday Inn, in the Prini area of Manali. Reports in the media a few days back said the same resort had hosted the unit of the Hrithik-Katrina starer, ‘Bang Bang’.

While the venue details have been have been kept under tight wraps, some local news sources say, the shooting has already started at the Naggar village, at an old house, and that Priyanka will shoot for the next 3-4 four days, in an around the Kullu-Manali area.

For almost a month Priyanka was seen promoting her film ‘Gunday’.  And it would have been normal for her to take a short break before she moved on to her next commitments. But, just a weekend later, she is back to the grind and is ready to begin shoot for her next, ‘Mary Kom’.

A source was quoted in the media as saying, “There is an elaborate 10-day-long training session that has been planned for Priyanka. Since she has to get into the groove for Mary Kom where she plays the real life Olympic winner boxer, producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali has planned an elaborate schedule for her. This would ensure that her physicality and agility is well in place before she begins shooting for the film.”

“It is going to be an extended shooting stint,” the source added saying, “It would last a good 45 days and is easily one of the longest ever, considering the fact a considerable number of days have already been spent on the shoot. ‘Mary Kom’ is a mega movie by all means and there won’t be any compromise on the entire set up and canvas.”

It seems, Priyanka understands that quite well and is persistent in her preparation for the film.

She was quoted by the media saying, “It is tiring of course,” (she smiles). “Working on the film has been an exhaustive experience already. Every part of my body aches whenever I come from the sets. Now there is this training schedule. Guess I won’t have any rest for next 50-60 days.” One can well imagine what Priyanka is going through, considering the fact that trainers of the actress are the same people who worked with the five-time World Boxing champion.
