Priyanka Chopra lost 7 kg in 20 days

Priyanka Chopra is facing weighty issue. The actress has lost 20 kg in just 20 days to get back into shape for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. Priyanka gained weight for Mary Kom biopic and no sooner Mary Kom biopic wrapped up, she has to begin Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and with no time left in hand, Priyanka had to shed 7 kg in just 20 days.

Priyanka Chopra had grown a muscular body for Mary Kom biopic and trainer Jharna Sanghvi had been training Priyanka to get into the shape for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Mary Kom’ for over an year.

According to Jharna, only a true boxer can lose this much weight in such a short period of time but with no time left in hand, they have to follow a tough regime including a strict controlled diet.

Speaking about Priyanka’s weight loss, Jharna Sanghvi, quoted, “It is not advisable to cut 6-7 kilos in a mere 15-20 days. But it can be achieved for boxers with the right weight training and activities like skipping and running. This was coupled by a strict protein rich diet minus carbs. Regular exercises and running for at least 30 minutes helped in a huge way.”

Mary Kom biopic is a great challenge for Piggy Chops as she had not only to build up a boxer body but at the same time, she had to undergone an image makeover to look like the boxer.

‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ shooting begins in Barcelona and the actress will be playing sister to Ranveer Singh. The film also stars Anushka Sharma playing Ranveer’s love interest and Shefali Shah as their mother.
