‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ releases: Five reasons to watch the movie

After his blockbuster ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ superstar Salaman Khan is set to charm audience with ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ as a Diwali gift for his fans. Sonam Kapoor stars as the leading lady while Anupam Kher, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Swara Bhaskar, Deepak Dobriyal and Arman Kohli are also featured in the movie directed by Sooraj Barjatya. After facing some troubled at the censor board, the film is set to hit screens on Thursday, November 12 in India and Pakistan. It will also release in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions.

Here are five major reasons to catch the show.

Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya

‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ marks the reunion of Salman and Sooraj after a gap of almost 16 years. The actor has delivered some of his career’s biggest hits with the director. The duo has worked together in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Koun...!’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’, which was their last film together in 1999. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is their fourth movie together.

Rajshri Films’ Production

Sooraj Barjaty and Rajshri films are known for films about family, values and tradition. It will be interesting to see how the movie has exploited these elements for today’s audience. The director is also making a comeback after almost a decade after Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao starrer ‘Vivah’ in 2006. Sooraj’s movies have always had cash registers ringing for the production company, and same is expected of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.

Salman as Prem

Salman’s character was named Prem in Sooraj’s 1989 blockbuster ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and ever since, the name has become simultaneous with Salman’s lover-boy image. He has played Prem on screen 14 times with the last time being in the 2011 film ‘Ready’. In ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ Salman will play Prem on screen for the 15th time.

Salman and Sonam pairing

Salman and Sonam have romanced each other in the latter’s debut film 2007 ‘Saawariya’, but Salman had only a cameo in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. Salman had shared amazing on-screen chemistry with his heroines like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit. ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ will bring to the fore his on-screen equation with Sonam which looks promising from the trailers.

Grandeur of sets

Like a typical Sooraj Barjatya film, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ too has a larger-than-life story and grand sets with majestic palaces, magnificient havelis and picturesque locations. The film is about a royal family and the colourful attire, jewellery, visuals et al will surely be a treat for sore eyes.
