Preity Zinta molestation case: Ness Wadia denies charges

Preity Zinta’s former boyfriend businessman Ness Wadia has recorded his statement with the police in connection with a molestation and criminal intimidation case filed against him by the actress two years ago. Ness denied all the allegations levelled against him, on May 19, two years after Preity registered the case.

Priety, who co-owns the IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab with Ness, had in June 2014 lodged a complaint with the Marine Drive police alleging that the Ness had abused and manhandled her. The incident took place at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium on May 30 that year during an IPL match.

In his statement recorded with the office of DCP Manoj Kumar Sharma, the industrialist said that both of them had an argument over seats, but he never intimidated or molested the Bollywood actress.

“Wadia claims that as co-owners of Kings XI Punjab, both he and Zinta were entitled to 15 seats. On May 30, their team was playing against Chennai Super Kings and since it was his birthday, he had decided to celebrate it with his family and friends and had even bought 35 extra tickets. Also, for the first time since he bought a stake in the IPL team, his mother Maureen had agreed to join him to watch the match . However, the front row seats were occupied by Zinta and her friends,” a report in The Indian Express quoted a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.

The official added, “Wadia adds that he first requested Kings XI Chief Operating Officer (COO) Fraser Castellino and then Zinta to vacate the seats. However, the actress refused, which led to bickering between the two. He denied the allegation of molestation and intimidation pressed by the actress.”
