Pregnant Rani Mukherji to skip Durga Puja this year

Unlike previous years, this year Rani Mukherji won’t be seen in Durga Puja pandals or serving bhog. Rani takes active part in the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja every year but this year, she is going to miss it. The Bong beauty has innumerable memories attached to the Mukherjee family puja since the last 67 years but this year she is going to miss the celebration. As it is known to all, Rani Mukherji is pregnant with her first child; she does not want to hog unnecessary media attention and decided to skip the festival.

Around the festive season, Rani would not be in India. She will be flying aboard with her hubby and Yash Raj head honcho, Aditya Chopra. Since she conceived, the ‘Mardani’ actress is spending most of the time outside India. Earlier she was also seen having a pre-natal massage in London.

Only few photos of Rani with her baby bump were captured. She does not want unnecessary media attention and want to spend this crucial phase of her life away from media glare. Aditya is very protective of her pregnant wife and makes sure that she passes this phase peacefully without stress and hullaballoo.

North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja secretary, Dev Mukherjee confirmed the news of Rani’s absence. "Anyone who wishes to attend the puja, can visit it. There are no formal invites sent. Rani has been attending the Puja for last several years but this year she might miss it."

Rani Mukherjee's spokesperson has confirmed the news saying that Rani would be out of the country during the Durga Puja celebration. Bappi Lahiri, Ayan Mukherjee, Pritam, Anurag Basu, Kajol with her children are snapped ever year.

Rani is expecting her first child with Aditya Chopra in January 2016.
