Pratyusha suicide: Actress’ parents to seek re-investigation of case

The lawyer representing deceased actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents, is planning to seek re-investigation into her death case, after more details emerged from her last telephonic conversation with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.

Advocate Neeraj Gupta, representing Soma and Shankar Banerjee, made available the transcript of the three-minute call between Pratyusha and Rahul, to a section of the media.

Gupta alleged that the police had overlooked several aspects related to Pratyusha’s alleged suicide, and has said that he is planning to file an application for re-investigation into the case.

"Police didn't investigate the case properly. They ignored many important aspects. As of now we don't have entire charge sheet. Once we get it, we will study the documents and file a fresh application on Monday," he said.

He added, "Name of a third person has come up in the telephonic conversation where Pratyusha is saying he was giving her life threats. The police should have found out who was threatening her. They should have conducted a proper investigation, but they did nothing."

The police also didn't look properly into Pratyusha's blood and viscera reports, Gupta said.

Pratyusha, who shot to fame with her role of 'Anandi' in the TV serial 'Balika Vadhu', allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her Goregaon home in Mumbai. Her boyfriend Rahul has been accused of abetting her suicide. He is currently out on bail.
