Pran’s wife Shukla Sikand passes away at 91


Late Bollywood actor Pran’s wife Shukla Sikand passed away due to age-related disease at the age of 91.

“She passed away yesterday due to age-related ailments at 2.30 am at (our) home,” her son Sunil told PTI today.

Noted actor Pran passed away in 2013 in Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital at the age of 93 after suffering from prolonged illness. Shukla Sikand is survived by daughter Pinky and two sons Arvind and Sunil.

Pran worked in over 350 movies. He is best remembered for his performance in films like Madhumati, Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai, Upkar, Shaheed, Purab Aur Paschim, Ram Aur Shyam, Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Johny Mera Naam, Victoria No. 203, Be-Imaan, Zanjeer, Don, Amar Akbar Anthony and many more.

Known for his both villainous and good man role, Pran bagged the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 1967, 1969 and 1972 and was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. He was awarded as the 'Villain of the Millennium' by Stardust in 2000. He was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 for his contribution to Indian cinema. He was also honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2013.
