Poster Out: Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte in ‘Padman’

The poster of ‘Padman’ starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte is out. It is an interesting script about sanitary pad inspired from real life Padman Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented the first low-cost sanitary napkins in India.

Sharing the poster with Radhika Apte, who plays his on-screen wife, Akshay Kumar wrote# “The REASON he became #PADMAN...”

Sonam Kapoor shares a picture with Akshay Kumar from the film and captioned it# Such a pleasure working with the indomitable Akshay Kumar. He was the perfect person to play the role of #Padman and has brought a sense of humour and love to the film. Of course none of these would have been possible without the humble visionary#Rbalki  @PadManTheFilm

Praising Akshay in another tweet, she wrote, “Dreams & dedication are a powerful combination - William Longwood. Padman is an incredible story that Akshay Kumar has brought to life with such grace and humility. Coming to a city near you!”

The real life Padman Arunachalam Muruganantham had revealed that Akshay's film is a fictionalized biopic. He was quoted as saying, "They have taken the core of my story and set it in fiction, taking many instances and references from my experiences. It is not a quintessential biography, like Gandhi."

Earlier Akshay had commented on menstruation, "If you change nothing, nothing will change. It's not about being bold, but about breaking taboos that hold us back. I have lived with women all my life, yet I have learnt more about the topic while making this film than ever before. I do not mind who I offend or whose stomach I turn by being bold, this is not the Stone Age; menstruating is natural."

The movie is scheduled to release on January 26.
