Post head injury, Ranveer Singh takes off to London for short break

Ranveer Singh, who injured his head while shooting ‘Padmavati’ in Mumbai earlier this week, is doing fine and has taken off to London for a short vacation. The 31-year-old actor, who has been busy filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama, has taken two weeks break to wind up.

Ranveer took off for the Queen’s City on Friday night, but before leaving he did go for a check-up for his injured head which required stiches. The actor will be enjoying a solo vacation in London and catching up on some biggest sporting events there.

“He plans to catch up on some of the biggest sporting events while there. He’ll be watching the Real Madrid v/s Juventus UEFA Champions League final match at the Millenium Stadium on June 3, followed by the India-Pakistan cricket match the next day in Birmingham,” a report in Mumbai Mirror stated.

Ranveer, a self-confessed sports fanatic has often crossed continents to catch his favourite league games. Last February, he had flown down to Canada to catch the NBA All-Star game when he also spent the Valentine’s Day week with his alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone who was shooting there for her maiden Hollywood film ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’.

It is a planned break and Ranveer’s absence will not hamper the shooting of ‘Padmavati’. “Ranveer has been totally focussed and giving his all to the character, Alauddin Khilji. It was SLB who recommended the rejuvenating trip as the entire crew of ‘Padmavati’ agreed that Ranveer needed this break,” the report quoted Ranveer’s spokesperson as saying.

Ranveer has once again proved his dedication for work when he injured his head while shooting for the climax sequence for the film earlier this week. He was so engrossed in the shoot that he didn't feel the need of urgent attention and completed his portion. The actor realised that he was badly hurt only after it started to bleed profusely after the shot was finished. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital for initial treatment.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who plays the titular character and Shahid Kapoor who plays Padmavati’s husband, will continue to shoot their portions, whil Ranveer will resume the shoot after returning on June 8.
