‘PK’ inching towards 100 crore club, earns 95 crore in 3 days


<PK style="" margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height:normal""="">After opening with a bang, Aamir Khan starrer ‘PK’ earns Rs 95.21 crore in the opening weekend. The film is fast marching towards 100 crore club.

"PK collected record Rs 38.24 crore on Sunday which is 30 per cent growth from Saturday, taking the film's total weekend net collection to Rs 95.21 crore (Friday: Rs 26.63 crore; Saturday: Rs 30.34 crore and Sunday: 38.24 crore)," said a statement from the film's producer.

The film mostly done well in multiplexes compared to single theatres. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ‘PK’ is Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Chopra’s second collaboration after the blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ in 2010. The film received rave reviews from critics and thumps up from the audience.

Overseas collection of ‘PK’ is also impressive. In the opening day, ‘PK’ collected Rs Rs 14.59 crore and it stood up to Rs 29.9 crore in the opening weekend. Released last Friday, ‘PK’ also stars Anushka Sharma. Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Dutt appear in significant roles.
