Phillauri Tailer: Suraj Sharma gets married to ghost Anushka Sharma
The trailer of ‘Phillauri’, Anushka Sharma’s second production was released and the trailer will leave you in splits. It is intriguing, funny and also carries a message. The ‘PK’ actress essays the role of Shashi, a friendly spirit. 'Phillauri' is Anushka's second home production after 'NH10'.
Set in Punjab, ‘Phillauri’ tells the story of a ghost (Anushka Sharma) who is married to a living person (Suraj Sharma). The trailer shows Suraj was declared manglik and he was asked to marry a tree to escape the curse before he gets married to his fiancee (Mehreen Pirzada). Suraj initially thought it was a joke but it was not. He was married to a tree in which a friendly ghost (Anushka Sharma) was stuck and in that way he tied the knot with the ghost.
After getting married to the ghost, Suraj ‘s life become a hell. The ghost haunts him and there is a dialogue like “You have destroyed my life by marrying me. Whom are you planning on running now?” The dialogue exchange between Anushka Sharma and Suraj Sharma will tickle your funny bones.
The story then moves to a flashback in which Anushka was seem in true love with a budding musician played by Diljit Dosanjh and something went wrong in their love story.
About the film, Anushka earlier told news agency PTI: "Wedding in the movie is just the backdrop of the story. Phillauri has got shades of drama, craziness and really interesting characters. It is romantic, fun and at the same time very intriguing. The story is set in Phillaur district of Punjab."
Regarding her co-stars Suraj, Mehreen and Dijit, Anushka said: "It is a fresh casting. Suraj, Diljit and Mehreen have added newness to the film with their personalities because they are not set in their ways."
Directed by Anshai Lal, ‘Phillauri’ is slated to release on March 24, 2017.
