‘Phillauri’ song ‘Sahiba’ depicts the tragic love story of Anushka-Diljit

After ‘Dum Dum’ and ‘What’s Up’, the makers of Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Phillauri’ have unveiled the third song from the film. Titled ‘Sahiba’, it is a melodious track about love and longing.

The love ballad depicts the love story of the movie’s characters. It features the tragic love story of star-crossed lovers Anushka and Diljit Dosanjh who have been separated by distance. The later part shows Suraj Sharma trying to reconcile with his fiancée, played by debutante Mehreen Pirzada.

‘Sahiba’ is an emotional track and tugs the heartstrings. The lovely song has been penned by Anvita Dutt and composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with liberal use of folk instruments of strings and tabla. Pawni Pandey and Romy have lent their soulful voices to the song.  

'Phillauri' is a supernatural drama that narrates two love stories from two different eras. Anushka and Diljit love story ends tragically. On the other hand, before tying the knot with Mehreen, Suraj marries a tree where the friendly ghost of Anushka lives after her death, and she haunts the couple.

Directed by Anshai Lal, 'Phillauri' is Anushka Sharma's second production venture after 2015 film ‘NH10’. It is set to hit the theatres on March 24.
