‘Phillauri’ song ‘Dum Dum’ depicts Anushka, Diljit’s quaint love story

The first song from Anushka Sharma’s upcoming film ‘Phillauri’ has been released. Titled ‘Dum Dum’, the song is a soothing romantic track featuring Anushka and Diljit Dosanjh. The song depicts how the two characters fall in love slowly.

Diljit, who himself is a popular singer, plays a singer in the film and is seen taking up an iktara (stringed instrument) and impressing the villagers, including Anushka with his singing. The two are seen stealing glances at each other and eventually falling in love. The picturization is also very beautiful.

Singers Romy and Vivek Hariharan have lent their vocals to the soulful song, which has been composed by newcomer Shaswat Sachdev using traditional sounds. The lyrics have been penned by Anvita Dutt.

‘Phillauri’ is a supernatural drama which also stars Suraj Sharma of ‘Life of Pi’ fame and marks the debut of model Mehreen Pirzada. Directed by Anshai Lal, it is Anushka’s second home production after the critically and commercially successful 2014 film ‘NH10’.

‘Phillauri’ is scheduled to release on March 24.
