Parineeti Chopra replaces pregnant Kareena in ‘Golmaal 4’

Due to pregnancy, Kareena Kapoor Khan could not be part of the fourth installment of the successful franchise, ‘Golmaal 4’ and she has been replaced by the ‘Ishaqzaade’ actress Parineeti Chopra. Kareena Kapoor Khan played the leading lady in ‘Golmaal 2’ and ‘Golmaal 3’.

Ajay Devgn, who has been part of all the franchise till now, welcomed Parineeti to the "crazy family".

"Welcome to the crazy Golmaal family @ParineetiChopra," he tweeted.

The 28-year-old actress said that she is excited to be the new Golmaal girl.

"Thankyouuu!! I am so excited to be a part of this family," she wrote thanking Devgn for welcoming her on board.

Earlier, it was speculated that Deepika Padukone or Alia Bhatt might step into the role of Kareena but finally Parineeti was roped in.

Rohit Shetty did not rope in Kareena this time owing to her pregnancy, the director once said, “It would have been easy to call her and tell her to do the film. She would have said, ‘Let’s do it’. But I can’t do that. I can’t talk to her (as she is pregnant) to do it (Golmaal 4). It’s odd. But let’s see we will do a song or something with her.”

Expressing surprise at Rohit's predicament, Kareena snapped back saying, “Those who have a role for me they will come to me. Pregnant or not. I don’t think there is anything wrong in that. Why should he be scared? I should be scared of him.”

While Rohit has expressed his desire of doing a song with Kareena in Golmaal 4, the actress shot that proposal down. “That is not going to happen. I am not even thinking of that.”

To be helmed by Rohit Shetty, 'Golmaal 4' is set to hit the theatres in Diwali, 2017. The shooting will kick-start early next year.
