Ali Asgar, Chandan quits Kapil's show; Sunil demands pay hike

In the latest development in the ongoing fight between comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, the latter has agreed to return to ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, but on a condition. Sunil reportedly, didn’t turn up for the show’s upcoming episode, while his co-stars Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar also boycott the show.

“Sunil has demanded a substantial hike in his salary if the production team wants him back on the show. He is no way letting Kapil go off easy after whatever went down between them. The hike that Sunil has demanded can give any producer sleepless nights. Well, this is what they call paying for your sins, maybe,” Bollywood Life quoted a source as saying.

It all started when Kapil humiliated and assaulted Sunil abroad the flight when the team was returning from Australia after a tour. Kapil was reportedly drunk at that time. After that there were reports that Sunil was thinking of quitting the show, following which Kapil apologised to him.

But, Sunil didn’t seem to be in a mood to forgive Kapil’s unruly conduct and hit out at him asking him not to act like ‘God’. It is said that Sunil notified Sony TV, the channel which airs the show, that he is quitting. Reportedly, Sony has asked Kapil to patch up with Sunil as it doesn’t want to suffer losses due to the comedian’s personal issues.

DNA quoted a source as saying, “Sony is fearing huge losses because a chunk of the target audiences tune in on the show to watch Sunil. Last time, when Sunil left Comedy Nights, the TRPs had dropped badly. This is the only show on Sony which is working really well. So the makers don’t really want to take a risk. Hence they have asked Kapil to go ahead and get the issue sorted.”
