Padmavati: Ranveer Singh slays as Sultan Alauddin Khilji

After unveiling Deepika Padukone’s look as Rani Padmavati and then releasing Shahid Kapoor’s injured looks in the battlefield as Maharawal Ratan Singh, the makers have now released yet another important character of the periodic drama. It is none other than Sultan Alauddin Khilji played by Ranveer Singh.

Ranveer nails as Sultan Alauddin Khilji and he looks fierce and quite convincing. The little scar underneath his eye creates an everlasting impact. Kohled eyes, long hair and thick beard completed his looks.

Two pictures of Sultan Alauddin Khilji were released. In one picture, he is bared and looking violently to the camera while in the next picture, he dons a golden crown and looking to the mirror. His reflection was captured in the lenses. There is passion, love, lust and anger in his eyes.

‘Padmavati’ is a 14th century real drama in which ruler Alauddin Khilji fell madly in love with Padmini, the queen of Chittor. Choosing honour over a life in Delhi, Padmini and the other women of Chittor killed themselves by leaping into a fire – a practice called jauhar.

The makers of 'Padmavati' had a very hard time shooting earlier as film's sets were attacked by Karni Sena in Jaipur and Nagpur. They argued that the Queen of Chittor, Rani Padmavati was shown in bad light.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’ is slated to release on December 1.
