‘Padmaavat’ banned in Haryana despite CBFC nod

Despite censor board clearance, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s mammoth project ‘Padmaavat’ banned in Haryana. Haryana is the fourth state to ban ‘Padmaavat’ after Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Health Minister Anil Vij took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“Film Padmavati/Padmavat banned in Haryana”, tweeted health minister Anil Vij.

However, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, who was previously against the release of the film in his state has now a change of mind. He has not banned ‘Padmaavat’ in UP.

From day one, ‘Padmavati’, now renamed ‘Padmaavat’ faced the irked of the Karni Sena. First they made all attempt to disrupt the shooting of the film. Under tight security Bhansali completed the shoot after he was slapped, set was destroyed, costumes’ were burnt.

When the release date of the date drew closer, they hit to the street to demand nation-wide ban of the film as according to them, ‘Padmaavat’ distorted their history and their most adorable Rani Padmavati is showed in a bad light.

‘Padmaavat’ stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the pivotal role. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Pad Man’ on January 25th.
