Opening day box-office collection of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’

Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan starrer ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ had a fantastic start. Opened with rave reviews, the film has done good opening day box-office business in the Northern circuit. The film is doing much better business in Northern India compared to Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Gabbar Is Back’ which is nearing towards 100 crore club.

Rajasthan, Mumbai, CI, Delhi/UP, East Punjab registered good occupancy so far and the numbers are expected to rise higher in the noon and evening shows.

Even Bollywood celebrities gave thumps-up to the sequel and applauded Kangana’s performance. The film opened with a bang on the opening Friday, especially North India. Theatre owners & exhibitors were looking up to ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ with high anticipation basically after the debacle of big budget movie, ‘Bombay Velvet’.

In Andhra Pradesh & West Bengal, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ had an average opening due to North Indian influences. The collection of ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ are expected to grow over the weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted, "#TanuWedsManuReturns opens to good/very good occupancies, especially in cities of North India... India screen count: 2200 screens.”  

‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ was released over 350 screens across USA, UK, Canada, Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia & UAE. The film is expected to grow with every passing day till the next big release.
