OK Jaanu: Aditya, Shraddha indulge in care-free romance in title track

After the recreated version of the chartbuster song ‘Humma Humma’ from 1995 movie ‘Bombay’, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘OK Jaanu’ is out with its title track. The film is the official Hindi remake of 2015 Tamil blockbuster ‘O Kadal Kanmani’.

In the video of the song, the lead pair, head-over-heels in love, is seen enjoying each other’s company while riding on a bike across the city of Mumbai. The song also shows the iconic locales of the financial capital, like The Gateway of India, Flora Fountain, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Worli Sea Link among others.

The makers have introduced the fresh vocals of Srinidhi Venkatesh who sings the pumped-up number, along with composer A. R. Rahman. The legendary lyricist Gulzar has penned the song. The song resembles the track ‘Mental Manadhil’ from the original film, the music for which was also compsed by Rahman.

Aditya and Shraddha come together in the romantic drama for the second time to recreate their ‘Ashique 2’ magic. They play Aadi and Tara, who fall in love and decide to live-in together until their respective careers take off. But when it finally happens, the lovers face difficulty in parting ways.

Karan Johar, who purchased the remake rights, has produced the film, while Shaad Ali has directed it. He has also co-written the screenplay with Mani Ratnam, who has directed the Tamil original.

OK Jaanu’ also stars Leela Samson and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles, and is set to release on January 13, 2017.
