'Noor' trailer: Sonakshi turns brave, truth-seeking journo from being 'joker'

After sharing posters of her forthcoming film ‘Noor’, Sonakshi Sinha has finally released the trailer of the film. The ‘Dabangg’ girl shared ‘Noor’ trailer on her Twitter timeline today afternoon (March 7) by writing, “bit.ly/NoorFilmTrailer  Aaaand the #NoorTrailer is here. Proud & excited! @NoorTheFilm is really close to my heart. Hope you guys like it.”

The film is based on Pakistani writer Saba Imtiaz's 2014 novel, ‘Karachi, You're Killing Me’ and Sonakshi plays the titular character of journalist Noor Roy Chaudhary. The movie is set in Mumbai where it was also shot.

The trailer opens with with Sonakshi’s character Noor introducing herself as a “joker” more than a journalist. She is clumsy, boozes with friends, gets hangovers and her love life isn’t taking off. She is seen struggling with weight issues and saying that she hates her life. But then things take a turn and she decides to take charge as a serious journalist. Towards the end of the trailer, she is seen saying, “Mumbai, you are killing me.” The trailer shows Noor’s journey from a happy-go-lucky girl to a brave, truth-seeking journalist.

‘Noor’ marks the Bollywood debut of stand-up comedian Kannan Gill, who plays Sonakshi’s friend in the film. Purba Kohli plays her love interest, while Manish Choudhary plays her boss, and all of them get appropriate screen time in the trailer.

As is the norm with almost every Bollywood movie now-a-days, ‘Noor’ also features the recreated version of the classic ‘Gulabi Aankhen Jo Teri Dekhi’ from 1970 film ‘The Train’.

Directed by Sunhil Sippy and co-produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series and Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment, ‘Noor’ is scheduled to release on April 21.
