Ninja Sonakshi stars with daddy in ‘Akira’

Sonakshi Sinha’s role in her upcoming film is made even more interesting with the very special actor she would be co-starring this time. She would be acting alongside daddy Shatrughan Sinha in AR Murugadoss’s ‘Akira’. Now yet another surprising detail has been revealed about this film. The father and daughter wouldn’t be sharing even one frame in this movie!

People were waiting to see how the Shatrughans would look together on the silver screen. But sadly, they wouldn’t be seen together at all. No matter how much the filmmakers try to keep the details covered to maintain the suspense, there is always a source or two ready to let the cat out of the bag. A source has recently revealed - “When Murugadoss approached Shotgun, the actor was told he played the film’s lifeline. Shatru plays Sonakshi’s father in Akira. But his character dies while Sonakshi’s character is a still a child. So all of his scenes are with the child actor playing Sona’s childhood avatar. Later on, his voice serves as a guiding force in Sona’s life. But they never come together face-to-face.” The source adds that Shatrughan Sinha is not happy with the development of the script, “Shatru feels there should be at least one sequence featuring Sonakshi and him together. Efforts are on to write such a scene into the script.”

It had been revealed that this film would be the official remake of the hit Tamil sleeper ‘Mounaguru’. But now fresh reports say that the film is no remake; it is rather the first original Hindi script of Murugadoss. His earlier Hindi films ‘Ghajini’ as well as ‘Holiday’, both were remakes of the filmmaker’s Telugu hits. The cast and crew of ‘Akira’ have already started the shooting. Sonakshi tweeted on 15th March, “My first day of shoot today for @ARMurugadoss sirs film! Cant wait to be in front of the camera!! Super charged up...Wish me luck” Two days hence, she tweeted- “Say hello to #AKIRA. My new name and new film. @ARMurugadoss @foxstarhindi”

Though her daddy may not be satisfied with the script, the actress remains fully dedicated to this project. She is indeed super charged up, as her later tweet revealed, “Channeling my inner Ninja, and yes - Practice makes perfect”, accompanied by her video that features her training. Sonakhi is learning martial arts for the film that gives a message about the safety of women.
