Newest bunch of star kids in Bollywood


The Hindi film industry is replete with star kids who are taking their family legacy forward. From Kareena Kapoor, her cousin Ranbir Kapoor to Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshai Sinha, Soha Ali Khan – the examples are many. They have been ruling the Bollywood scene for some years now.

Sometime ago, there were also reports that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara will make her debut with Ishaan Khattar, brother of actor Shahid Kapoor and son of former actress Nileema Azim. Sridevi’s beautiful daughter Jhanvi Kapoor was also said to be roped in for a multi-lingual film. However, parents of both the star daughters want them to complete their formal education first. So they may not be seen on-screen anytime soon.

But, there are others who are all set to enter appear on-screen and some who have already debuted in the recent past. Here’s a look at some of these young stars in the making.

Harshvardhan Kapoor

Harshvardhan is the youngest son of Bollywood actor-producer Anil Kapoor and brother of the gorgeous Sonam Kapoor. The young star son is all set to enter the tinsel town with his upcoming movie ‘Mirziya’ which is set to release next year. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Harshvardhan is cast opposite Saiyami Kher, niece of actress Tanvi Azmi. Harsh has studied screenplay writing and acting in America. He had also assisted director Anurag Kashyap in ‘Bombay Velvet’. According to reports, Harsh has bagged one more film ‘Bhavesh Joshi’, a superhero drama by Vikramaditya Motwane.

Karan Deol

Karan is the elder of actor-director Sunny Deol’s two sons, the other being Rajvir. Popularly known as Rocky, Karan has worked as an assistant director in his father’s film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ and also made his singing debut with the film. There is buzz that papa Sunny is planning to launch Karan himself next year. It is said that Aditya Chopra had wanted to launch Karan under his banner and had also offered a three-film deal, but the ‘Ziddi’ actor refused the offer reportedly due to the long standing  feud between him and Yash Raj Films. Karan who was also assisting his dad in making ‘Ghayal Once Again’ has started taking keen interest in his launch. "Now I'm seriously working on my acting career. I've started rigorous workouts and working really hard because I have to compete with my father who has been so good in that department. Obviously, there is tremendous pressure on me essentially because of the lineage I come from. All this while I have been readying myself and now I feel the time is right," Karan had said.

Sooraj Pancholi

Son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, Sooraj made his acting debut with Nikhil Advani’s ‘Hero’, a remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 cult film of the same name. The film released on September 11 this year. He has been launched by superstar Salman Khan who also co-produced ‘Hero’ along with Subhash Gahi’s Mukta Arts. The handsome actor has learnt dancing, acting and martial arts to make it big in Bollywood. Sooraj has also worked as an assistant director in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ and Kabir Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Reportedly, Sooraj, who has showcased his action stunts in his debut film, has been signed on to star in ‘Drishyam’ producer Kumar Mangat Pathak’s next which is an action film with a love track. There are also reports that he has been approached for a role in choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza’s action-dance film which will also star Ajay Devgn.

Athiya Shetty

Athiya Shetty is the daughter of actor-producer Suniel Shetty. Athiya also made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s second production venture ‘Hero’ opposite Sooraj Pancholi. A remake of Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri-starrer super-hit ‘Hero’ (1983), the film has been directed by Nikhil Advani with the same title. She has a degree in Filmmaking and Liberal Arts from New York Film Academy under her belt. The actress is now interested in doing romantic films of those in the romantic space which teenagers would love to watch. Sometime ago, there were rumours that Athiya was being roped in for one of Karan Johar’s production which would be a remake of 1989 film ‘Ram Lakhan’.

Tina Ahuja

Tina Ahuja is the daughter of Bollywood actor Govinda. She is also named Narmada. Tina made her film debut with Smeep Kang’s romantic comedy ‘Second Hand Husband’ which also starred Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal and Geeta Basra. It also featured veteran actors Dharmendra and Rati Agnihotri. However, the film could not make an impact at the box office upon its release and performed poorly. It was earlier rumoured that Salman Khan would launch her opposite a film starring champion boxer Vijender Singh.
