Fairy-tale themed engagement for Neil-Rukmini today
Neil Nitin Mukesh is all set to bid adieu to his bachelorhood and get married to Rukmini Sahay at a grand ceremony in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. The along with his family members, has already arrived in the City of Lakes for the three-day-long celebrations.
The ‘Johnny Gaddaar’ actor sported a sash which read ‘Groom to be’ across his chest. The wedding function, including a formal engagement on Feb 7, followed by mehendi and sangeet on Feb 8, and the wedding rituals and pheras on Feb 9, will take place at Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa.
The revellers have already kick started the celebrations from Monday with a sufi night. While it will be a traditional wedding, the engagement ceremony today will have a fairy-tale theme. Speaking about it with a leading daily, Neil said, “We have kept everything traditional, except our engagement ceremony. Since I was born in a family with a filmy background, I wanted to give a fairy-tale twist to my engagement ceremony. The dress code is tuxedos for men and evening gowns for women. My girl will be walking down the aisle wearing a flowy gown. I have grown up watching English films and had this fantasy!"
The ceremony will be followed by a musical evening, with DJ Suketu belting out English numbers.
Neil and Rukmini have also planned to do an unrehearsed performance during their sangeet, without any help of a choreographer. "Both of us decided to not have a choreographed performance. Everyone should see how naturally we gel together," Neil said.
The grand wedding on Thursday will include events like a rain dance party, a football and volleyball match between Neil 11 Vs Rukmani 11. It will be followed by ‘sehrabandi’ at 3 pm and the baraat procession at 4 pm for the pheras late evening.
Neil’s family is huge and the wedding is being attended by 500 guests from different parts of the world.
