Neil Nitin Mukesh to play villain in Prabhas’ film ‘Saaho’

Neil Nitin Mukesh has been roped in to play the main antagonist in ‘Baahubali’ fame actor Prabhas’s next project ‘Saaho’. Although Neil has played leading man in a few films, his grey-shaded roles fetched him the most recognition in Bollywood.

Neil’s villainous character in ‘Saaho’ is said to be a strong one. A source from the film’s creative team was quoted as saying, “‘Baahubali’ made everyone aware how important it is to balance out the moral conflict. Prabhas’ ‘Baahubali’ act would have fallen flat if Rana’s madness as Bhalaladev did not spread itself out throughout the plot.”

The ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ actor will have several hand-to-hand combats with Prabhas’ character in the upcoming film. “After Prabhas, Neil was the first artiste to be signed for ‘Saaho’. Also, so far, he’s the only member of the cast besides Prabhas. He has a powerful role.”

While the makers are still on the lookout for a suitable female lead, initially there were rumours that Katrina Kaif was approached for the role. Thereafter, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ actress Pooja Hegde’s name has also surfaced, but the name of the leading lady is yet to be confirmed.

‘Saaho’ is an action-thriller to be directed by Sujeeth. Prabha’s, who has dedicated almost five years to ‘Baahubali’, is currently on a vacation in the US and will start shooting for the film once her returns. Repotedly, portions of ‘Saaho’ will also be shot in Mumbai.

As for Neil, he has wrapped up the shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Indu Sarkar’, based on the 21-month long Emergency period in India from 1975 to 1977, during the tenure of late prime minister Indira Gandhi. He will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Again’, the fourth instalment of his hit comedy franchise.
