Neil Nitin Mukesh nails Sanjay Gandhi’s look in ‘Indu Sarkar’ poster

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will be seen portraying the role of Sanjay Gandhi in upcoming film ‘Indu Sarkar’, which is set during the Emergency period in 1975. The actor on Wednesday shared a new poster revealing his look in the movie.

The 35-year-old actor has nailed Sanjay Gandhi’s look wearing rimmed glasses and a shawl over his kurta. His image on the poster has a stark resemblance with the late politician. The poster also features actress Supriya Vinod in the background, evidently in the role of late prime minister Indira Gandhi. There is also a faint image of the Parliament house and security forces in the backdrop.

Neil has called the portrayal of Sanjay Gandhi as his most daring character ever and tweeted the poster by writing, “28th July 2017. In my most daring character potryed on screen ever. #indusarkar @imbhandarkar. @IamKirtiKulhari @AnupamPkher.”

‘Indu Sarkar’ has been directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar who also shared Neil’s character poster on his Twitter handle. “Here's @NeilNMukesh 's look from #InduSarkar. Trailer out on 16th June, film releases on 28 July 2017,” the ‘Fashion’ director tweeted with the image.

The film is set in the backdrop of the 21-month long Emergency period from 1975 to 1977, when then prime minister Indira Gandhi unilaterally declared a state of emergency across the country. The plot revolves around a stammering poetess who rebels against the system.

Also starring Kirti Kulhari of ‘Pink’ fame, Anupam Kher and Tota Roy Chowdhury in pivotal roles, the film is slated to release on July 28.
