Neeraj Vora dies at 54: PM Modi, Akshay, Tusshar mourn his demise


Director, scriptwriter cum actor Neeraj Vora passed away on Thursday morning after he suffered a massive brain stroke and slipped into coma. He was keeping unwell for a long time and his good friend and filmmaker Feroz Nadiadwala was taking care of him and kept him in his house and assigned nurse for his care and treatment.

Last night, he was rushed to Criti Care Hospital, Juhu after his condition deteriorated but he failed to survive and passed away in the morning. He was 54. His brother Uttank Vora confirmed the news of his demise. 

Bollywood celebrities like Akshay KumarTusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and a few more expressed their grief on social media.

"One of the main reasons behind my foray into comedy, saddened to hear about the demise of Neeraj Vora a multi-talented man, writer, director, actor...a mini industry by himself, learnt so much from him. RIP," wrote Akshay Kumar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled Vora's death# "Saddened by the demise of Neeraj Vora. An energetic and creative personality, he will be remembered for his films and warm nature. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this sad hour," wrote PM Modi.

Neeraj Vora's funeral is scheduled to take place today, "He will be taken to Firoz Nadiadwala's house Barkat from where he will be taken to the Santa Cruz Electric Crematorium at 3 pm," his brother told IANS.

For the past one year, Feroz Nadiadwala was bearing the medical expenses of Neeraj Vora.

Nadiadwala said, “He passed away at 4 am on Thursday. I’ve lost the battle to save my brother and friend from the clutches of death. His health had improved so much. But it deteriorated suddenly on Friday. He had to be shifted to hospital. But it was no use. We lost him.”

Neeraj Vora was a fine actor, director and scriptwriter. He directed blockbuster movies like Khiladi 420 and Familywala and penned scripts for Hera Pheri, Golmaal and Daud. Neeraj Vora has also acted in few movies like Khatta Meetha, Pukar, Mast, Hello Brother and Rangeela.
