Nawazuddin Siddhiqui booked for slapping woman

On Sunday, an FIR has been lodged against Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddhiqui for assaulting a woman physically over parking dispute.

The victim named, Hina Shaikh registered a case against Nawaz at the Versova police station in Mumbai but it is learnt that the actor had not been arrested till late on Sunday evening. The victim accused Nawaz getting physical with her and slapping her over parking issue.

Arun Chavan, assistant commissioner of police, said, “We registered a case against Nawazuddin under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) based on the complainant’s version. As of now we have not arrested any person, and are in the process of verifying the facts.”

Speaking to ANI, the complainant, Hina Shaikh, said, "When a person started parking in society compound space, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's bouncers came and started opposing. When I started clicking pictures, Nawazuddin came out and physically assaulted me. Now that I have registered FIR, I don't fear anything."

Hina Shaikh's mother said, "We had served several notices to him to vacate society's compound space. Instead two bouncers were brought to oppose anyone attempting to park vehicle in the compound. When my daughter started clicking pictures, Nawazuddin and his brother assaulted her and verbally abused her."

Meanwhile, Nawazuddin's brother Faiz Siddiqui has completely denied the allegations of physical assault and called it 'fake'.

However, denying the allegation, the actor’s manager, Anup Pandey said, “It is a false case. The case has been registered without investigation. It is a society issue which has been going on for a long time,” Pandey told PTI. “There was an argument, but no hatha pai (exchange of physical blows) as claimed in the complaint. We will take the matters up.”

On the work front, the 41-year-old actor is currently gearing up for the release of his next venture, ‘Manjhi -The Mountain Man’.
