Nargarjuna’s son Akhil’s marriage with Shriya Bhupal called off

It is shocking to learn that Nargarjuna’s son and Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni’s impending wedding with Shriya Bhupal, granddaughter of industrialist G V K Reddy has been reportedly called off.

Report is floating from every corner that the two high profile families have reportedly called off the wedding which was supposed to take place in May.

Akhil (22) was engaged to Shriya (26) in a lavish private ceremony at GVK House last year in December. The destination wedding was expected to take place in Italy this year.

According to an inside source, many close relatives and friends, who have booked their tickets in advance were asked to cancel their tickets.

“Messages went out last Saturday to guests to cancel their programme. No reason was given. Those who were about to book tickets were advised not to go ahead. Even the tickets booked by both families have been cancelled,” informs a source.

No exact reason is yet been known. A guest on condition of anonymity said it was a total surprise. “All was well until last week,” he said.

Around 700 guests were expected to attend the high profile wedding including top bureaucrats, south Indian movie stars and also Bollywood stars. “A lot of preparations were made and everything was in place. Hotels and resorts were booked,” sources said.

Akhil Akkineni and Shriya Bhupal were in a courtship for two years before getting engaged in December last year. While Akhil has acted in a few movies, Shriya Bhupal is a fashion designer based in Hyderabad and the granddaughter of business tycoon GVK Reddy. She has designed outfits for Tollywood stars Kajal Agarwal and Shriya Saran besides Bollywood's top stars like Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
