‘Nach Baliye’ legless dancer Vinod Thakur’s condition critical

The legless dancer Vinod Thakur, who participated in the dance reality show, ‘Nach Baliye’ and ‘India’s Got Talent’ suffered a heart attack and is currently on ventilator.

Thakur collapsed near Malad enroute to the Gateway of India. The incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday morning. He was immediately rushed to the Raksha Hospital at Malad and was admitted to the ICU in a serious condition.

Vinod Thakur's condition has worsened. He suffered a mild heart attack and has been put on a ventilator.

Thakur was on his journey to make his name in the Guinness World Record in association with the Nevada Putnan Foundation of Mumbai for the longest wheelchair journey. He started his journey on his wheelchair on March 18 from the India Gate at Delhi covering almost 1500 km on wheelchair in a span of 40 days.  He was originally scheduled to reach the Gateway of India in Mumbai on April 30.

Pictures from the hospital shows him lying on bed with instruments all round.

Dr Pranav Kabra is attending Thakur. He was admitted to hospital following severe dehydration, low BP, irregular heartbeat and few other medical complications. His condition worsened due to the strain associated with the long wheelchair journey.

Apparently, Vinod is likely to stay in the hospital for at least two to three days till his condition improves. Vinod's spokesperson Flynn Remedios said that if his health permits, he will resume his journey on May 1.

Apart from a dancer, Vinod Thakur is a performer and stunt master and also plays wheelchair cricket.

We wish him a speedy recovery!
