‘Nach Baliye’ couples who broke-up after the show
Dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ is one of the most popular programmes on Indian television and the eighth edition of the celebrity couple dance show is coming to an end. With the elimination of Dipika Kakkar and Shoaib Ibrahim on Saturday’s (June 17) episode, the three finalist couples – Divyanka Tripathi-Vivek Dahiya, Sanaya Irani-Mohit Sehgal and Abigail Jain-Sanam Johar, will be contesting for the winners’ title and trophy at the grand finale.
Fans and audience have showered their love to all the loving couples who participated, and hope to see all of them lead a happy life together with their respective partners. However, there have been couples in previous seasons of the reality show who are no longer together. Following are some of the much-in-love couples who participated in the show together, but eventually broke up:
Karishma Tanna and Upen Patel: Karishma and Upen, who fell in love during their stint in ‘Bigg Boss 8’, continued their love story in ‘Nach Baliye 7’. Both of them impressed fans and judges with their sizzling chemistry and were even the second runners-up. Upen had even proposed Karishma for marriage on the show, but after dating each other for two years they split in May 2016.
Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu: Rashami and Nandish’s married life had already hit a rough patch post their marriage in 2012, but the duo decided to give their relationship one more chance and participated together in ‘Nach Baliye 7’. They came on the second position and were adjudged runners-up, but their precious moments on the show couldn’t salvage their marriage which ended in divorce.
Delnaaz Irani and Rajeev Paul: The television actors contested in the maiden season of ‘Nach Baliye’ in 2005. They were a loving couple then and has impressed everyone with their chemistry. However, their 14-year-long marital life turned sour and they couple separated in 2010 and obtained divorce in 2012. The ex-couple also participated in reality show ‘Bigg Boss 6’ the same year. According to reports, Delnaaz left Rajeev due to his extramarital affairs, but the latter denied the allegations saying that it was his failing career that led to the bitter end of their relationship.
Daljeet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot: The television actors who fell in love while working for Sony TV show ‘Kulvadhu’, were the winners of ‘Nach Baliye 4’ which wrapped up in February 2009. Months later, Daljeet and Shaleen took their four-year-long relationship ahead and tied the knot in December the same year, and were eventually blessed with a son. But things took a bitter turn as Daljeet accused Shaleen of cheating on her and alleged domestic violence and mental abuse by him. They finally divorced in 2015.
Shweta Tiwari and Raja Chaudhary: The popular television actress who married the infamous actor Raja Chaudhary at a young age of 19 circa 2000. Shweta and Raja contested ‘Nach Baliye 2’ in 2006 and separated the following year after seven years of marriage. Shweta could no longer tolerate his abusive and violent ways and alcoholism and filed for divorce which came through in 2012. Thereafter, Shweta got married for the second time to actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013, and gave birth to their son Reyansh in November last year.
Narayani Shastri and Gaurav Chopra: After romancing each other in shows like ‘Piya Ka Ghar’ and ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyan’, Narayani and Gaurav also dated each other in real life and also participated in season 2 of ‘Nach Baliye’. However, the duo eventually broke-up without revealing much details, but has continued to be good friends.
