‘Naam Shabana’ trailer: Taapsee dares to do what no one does
The makers of upcoming thriller ‘Naam Shabana’, starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead, launched the film’s trailer on Friday. It is a spin-off from the actress’ character in her 2015 hit ‘Baby’, which gained her recognition in Bollywood.
Taapsee shared the link of the trailer on her Twitter timeline writing, “From ordinary to extra-ordinary, this is Shabana's story before BABY. #NaamShabanaTrailer.”
‘Naam Shabana’ also brings back other characters from the Neeraj Pandey directorial, including Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa and Madhurima Tuli. It also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Elli Avram and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Just as Taapsee mentioned in the tweet, the film deals with the circumstances that led her character Shabana Khan become a part of secret agents called Baby. It is a prequel to ‘Baby’.
The trailer begins with the voiceover of Manoj Bajpayee narrating the characteristics of Shabana and why she has been inducted into the secret agency, the only aim of which is national security. Simultaneously, the video shows how Taapsee’s character transforms from an ordinary girl-next-door to a woman who “dares to do what no one does.” So much, that at the end of the trailer, Akshay’s character is seen telling her to at least let him do something.
The little-over-two-minute long trailer has the promise of a thrilling movie.
'Naam Shabana' has been directed by Shivam Nair and produced by Neeraj Pandey, who had directed ‘Baby’. The movie is set to hit screens on March 31.
