Bombay Velvet: Watch Ranbir, Anushka in ‘Naak Pe Gussa’ song

Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor starring ‘Bombay Velvet’ had a new song released recently. The song is entitled as ‘Naak Pe Gussa’.

The song shows the actress who plays the role of Rosie Noronha singing to calm down her hot-headed beau in the film Johnny Balraj played by Ranbir. Johnny Balraj is a boxer who is quick to lose his temper.

The scene for the song ‘Naak Pe Gussa’ has been set in1960s’ Bombay. It is a jazz number that is seen to be taking place in a certain club of Bombay in the same era. The scene depicts people from all walks of life that one would generally have seen in a night club of the 1960s in the city of Bombay.

The environment projected in the song comprises of people depicting emotions of secrets, suspicions, anger, deceit and danger in one way or the other. Rosie Noronha the female lead in the film played by the ‘NH 10’ star Anushka Sharma is herself seen nicking some valuable negatives of some photographs that she perhaps intends to protect from visibility and publicity in the film.

Ranbir Kapoor on the other hand as the male lead of the story is a man who cannot keep cools for long and can be quite aggressive. On account of this tinge of bellicosity in his personality he tends to pick up quarrels and fights with people and guns down some fellow denizens around in the club in the song. The actor in terms of temperament is diametrically opposite to Rosie’s character in the film.

The song ‘Naak Pe Gussa’ that features the two stars in club costumes from 1960s Bombay has been composed by the popular singer Amit Trivedi. Trivedi is known to have learnt the genre of Jazz music in Los Angeles prior to composing the song to achieve perfection and aptness for the movie ‘Bombay Velvet’. The song is certainly of a different flavor bringing vintage music and 1960s classic club culture on a platter together. It has been wonderfully and most seductively sung by the up-and-coming singer Neeti Mohan.

The lyrics for the song ‘Naak Pe Gussa’ have been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The lyrics are enticing and telling ones.

The film 'Bombay Velvet' also for the first time has director-turned-actor Karan Johar captured as a full-fledged actor in this film. The film is set to release on May 15, 2015.
