‘Mubarakan’ first look: Arjun Kapoor plays double role
After 2013 film ‘Aurangzeb’, Arjun Kapoor is set to essay a double role in his upcoming film ‘Mubarakan’. The ‘Ishaqzaade’ actor will be seen as Karanveer Singh and Charanveer Singhin the comedy flick.
Arjun took to his Twitter handle on Thursday and shared his first look from the film by tweeting, “Meet Karanveer Singh and Charanveer Singh #MubarakanFirstLook @MubarakanFilm #SonyPicturesNetworksProductions #Cine1Studios.”
From the look, it is revealed that one of Arju’s characters play a Punjabi sardar. He is sporting a blue pathani suit with a matching turban. The other character sports a funky look with cropped hair and a black jacket. It is for the first time that Arjun will be seen playing a Sikh.
The film directed by Anees Bazmee will also have Arjun sharing screen space for the first time with his uncle Anil Kapoor. The duo will enact their real relation of nephew and uncle on screen as well. Bazmee has previously worked with Anil Kapoor in comedies like ‘No Entry’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Welcome Back’.
The wedding comedy also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty and will be majorly shot in Chandigarh and London. ‘Mubarakan’ is set for release on July 28, 2017.
Besides ‘Mubarakan’, Arjun will also be seen in Mohit Suri’s ‘Half Girlfriend’ opposite Shraddha Kapoor. The movie is a screen adaption of celebrity author Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name.
