Mr Bachchan told me to use the money wisely, KBC winner Anamika Majumdar

Anamika Mazumdar, a housewife and a social worker from Jharkhand wins 1 crore in the eleventh season of the popular quiz show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and she is over the moon to win the big amount as her NGO desperately in need of funds.

Anamika Mazumdar runs an NGO, ‘Faith In India’ which works for the uplifting and betterment of children and women.

When Anamika was asked how she is going to use the money, she replied, “I will contribute the whole amount to our NGO, which works for women and children in Jharkhand. Usually when people win such a big amount, they spend on luxury items but I can't even think of doing it because my husband will not allow that. The people our NGO works for, don't even have money for food. So I will spend the money on them”.

Majumdar, who hails from Jamshedpur further said, “I want to spend this money to help people. Although I am tempted to go back home and use it immediately, I want to come up with the best way to utilise such a big amount.”

The 41-year-old woman said that Amitabh Bachchan asked her to use the money very wisely.

“After winning the show, Mr Bachchan told me that I must use this huge amount wisely and not take any hasty decision. I want to wait for this excitement to subside and then take the right step,” says the social worker.

Did she think she would make it thus far? “After I won Rs 50 lakh, I was taking a lot of time on every answer and I knew I wouldn’t get such a chance again. All my lifelines were over and I didn’t want to lose after reaching that point. I was confused in the final question, but the final decision of 2-3 seconds changed my life,” says Majumdar.
