‘Mission Mangal’ opens with a bang, inching towards 50 crore


Jagan Shakti's ‘Mission Mangal’ starring bunch of talents Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menen minted Rs 29.16 crore on the opening day. The film has made Rs 17.28 crore on its second day, totalling to Rs 46.44 crore in two days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s figure #MissionMangal is unstoppable on Day 2 [working day after a big holiday]... Multiplexes are terrific, driving its biz... The film clashed with John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’.

Talking about the films’ clash, John had earlier said, "Honestly, if there was a controversy, I would have loved to create it, but Akshay and I are very dear friends, we really get along. In fact, just the other day we texted each other. There is absolutely nothing there. We are just releasing two films on the same day."

'Mission Mangal' is based on Mars Orbiter Mission from the Sriharikota space port on November 5, 2013.
