Missing Chennai model Gaanam Nair found


Chennai based model Gaanam Nair, who was untraceable for the last four days finally returns home. Gaanam Nair aka Jikki Padhoo reportedly went missing on Friday.  Finally, she returns home today.

It is said that she was suffering from depression. In March, she posted a note about a lover, "A tear rolls down, from both our eyes, at the same time. My lips quivering, crying, I'm trying to prepare you, pulling myself up. But I give up the next minute. You slap me. You slap me crying, desperate, 'Get up Gaanam, get up."

"We understand she had marriage related issues with her family and had some health issues as well," said an investigator handling her case, to NDTV.

Gaanam is doing well.  "She was reportedly in depression. We are investigating," NDTV quoted a Police source as saying.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, T.Nagar, P. Saravanan said, "Our teams traced her today and she is normal."

Ever since she went missing, Gaanam’s mobile phone had also been switched off.

On Friday night when she neither reached home nor reached her office, it raised alarm and her aunt with whom she was living in an apartment lodged a police complaint about her missing. Ms. Nair left for work on her two-wheeler.

When she went missing for so many days, her close ones and friends ran an online campaign about her missing on net while her family issued a notice in daily newspapers. The K.K. Nagar police registered the case and two teams were formed to trace her.

The 28-year-old father is based in New Delhi, while her mother had passed away.
