Marathi actor Ramesh Bhatkar dies of cancer


Popular Marathi actor Ramesh Bhatkar dies of cancer at the age of 70. He was suffering from cancer for more than one and a half years and died in a hospital. "He fought bravely as much as he could. But in the last one month, he was in tremendous pain and we all were worried. He was in ICU for the last fifteen days," actor Jaywant Wadkar told PTI.

Ramesh’s good friend and Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar further told, “He passed away in the afternoon. It is a big loss for the industry. Ramesh was a great friend and a happy soul. I will really miss him.”

Ramesh Bhatkar's last rites took place at 10.30 pm at Shivaji Park.            

Ramesh Bhatkar was a well known television face and starred in TV series like Commander and Hello Inspector. Apart from Marathi movies, he worked in Bollywood movies like Aai Pahije, Kucch To Hai and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.

Ramesh Bhatkar is survived by his wife. May his soul rest in peace!
