Mani Ratnam hospitalized due to cardiac problem, later discharged

Noted filmmaker Mani Ratnam hospitalized following cardiac problem in a local hospital in Chennai on Sunday.

The news of his hospitalization was shared on social media and it created tension among his fans but Nikkil Murugan informed fans and well wishers that Ratnam has returned to work after undergoing routine check up at the health center. The user wrote on Twitter, "After a routine Check up Maniratnam sir back to office today with his routine work. All is Well..,@hasinimani @MadrasTalkies (sic)." It is reported that he is kept under medical observation.

Mani Ratnam, known for his marvellous world in movies like Dil Se, Yuva, Raavan, Guru has a history of heart problem. He suffered heart attack on set of 2004 film ‘Yuva’. Again in 2015, he was admitted to hospital due to cardiac problem.

On the work front, the 63-year-old director is currently busy with his next outing ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The film is based on the novel of Amarar Kalki and revolves around the kingdom of Raja Raja Cholan.
