Mamta Kulkarni’s husband Vicky Goswami wanted in drug case

Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni's husband Vicky Goswami, who had spent a good number of years at a Dubai jail for drug-related offences, is once again in trouble. He has been named as one of the masterminds in a huge consignment of drugs seized recently. He is now wanted by the US police.

In one of the largest drug hauls in the country, the Thane police confiscated 18,627 kg of ephedrine worth over Rs 2,000 crore, according to a report in SpotboyE. Ephedrine is a medicine abused to make party drug Crystal Meth.

Five people had been arrested, including two from the shut unit of a pharmaceutical company Avon in Solapur. Punit, one of the other masterminds, had met Vicky in 2013. Vicky was routing drugs from the US through Gujarat into various cities of India, the report stated.

Vicky is alleged to be the drug lord of Zambia and has spread his drug racket far and wide. In 1997, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in Dubai for trafficking about 11.5 tonne of Mandrax. He was, however, released in 2012 on grounds of good behaviour. Vicky forged a relationship with the actress while in Jail. They were reportedly living in Kenyan capital Nairobi before shifting to Dubai.

Mamta had starred in hit films like ‘Karan Arjun’ and ‘Baazi’ in the 1990s. She was last seen in forgettable films ‘Censor’ in 2001 and ‘Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum’ 2002.
