3 masked men can't take me down, Mallika Sherawat on Paris attack

Actress Mallika Sherawat, who was reportedly tear gassed and beaten up by three masked men in her Paris apartment, has spoken up on the incident. She has also posted a strong message on her Instagram account which read, “It takes more than 3 masked men to take me down, I am a strong woman.”

Mallika was with her French boyfriend Cyrille Auxenfans, when the intruders attacked them late in the night on November 11.

Talking about the shocking incident during an interview to a news channel, the ‘Murder’ actress said that she was attacked from behind by three men who sprayed teargas at her and Cyrille in the hallway of his apartment building, as they arrived home.

Mallika revealed that the men wore scarves over their faces. They pushed her to the ground and then started hitting Cyrille and tried to grab her bag. The teargas had temporarily blinded her and the incident left her with "a few bruises and marks" and "the feeling of having to look over your shoulder," the actress added. Her boyfriend also suffered minor injuries.

"He was hurt a little bit. We both fought them off. They are strong men but I didn't just cower down," she told CNN, adding that she will not let the incident change her life at all, describing herself as "a strong woman."

Though the attackers fled empty-handed, Mallika said it was traumatic and that no one should be made to suffer the insecurity of having their home broken into or the physical and mental abuse of such an attack.

This is not the first time that a celebrity has been attacked in the French capital. Just a month ago, reality TV star Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
