Malayalam actor Jishnu Raghavan dies of cancer at 35

Malayalam actor Jishnu Raghavan passed away this morning at a private in Kochi, Kerala after battling cancer for the past two years. He was 35.

Jishnu, who was detected with cancer for the first time two years back completely recovered but unfortunately the disease, had relapsed last year.

"Around 8.30 a.m. this morning, he passed away in Amrita hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for a long time," a source close to the actor told IANS.

On March 8, Jishnu wrote a touching message on his Facebook page, highlighting his battle for life and expression his strong desire for survival.

"Being positive and always smiling makes a lot of difference. I'm in ICU now, nothing to worry this is kind of my second home now. I have fun here. I started smiling at every situation now especially the nurses who take care of me. Trust me it made a lot of difference. They do a tough job of treating pain and in I C U things r worse but by smiling and being jovial creates such a good atmosphere that everything just gets better, it's magic... smile is magic...try it," he said in his message.

Jishu, son of popular Malayalam actor Raghavan, started his career as a child artist in 1987 with Malayalam film ‘Killipatt’. But he debuted as a male lead with 'Nammal' in 2002. He earned Kerala Film Critics Award for the Best Male Debut.

He starred in movies like 'Freedom', 'Parayam', 'Pauran', 'Chakkara Muthu' to name a few.
