‘Mahakali’ actors Gagan Kang, Arjit Lavania killed in a car crash

‘Mahakali’ actors Gagan Kang and Arjit Lavania were killed in a road accident on Saturday. Along with them, the spotboy also died on the spot. The accident took place at 11:30 pm while they were returning back to Mumbai from Umbergaon shoot.The car collided with a container on Mumbai- Ahmedabad highway near Palghar's Manor town.

Kang, who plays Lord Indra in the mythological serial Mahakali - Anth Hi Aarambh Hai on Colors was on the wheels of the car. The spotboy was seating in the rear. Kang lost control of the car and it crashed into a stationary trailer which was park in the correct side of the road.

The car’s roof was totally damaged and the three of them died on the spot.

Police found Kang’s body on the driving seat while beer cans and snacks were scattered all round. It was almost confirmed that the actor was driving under the influence of alcohol and he lost the control of the speeding car.

A case of accidental death has been registered and the police are waiting for the autopsy to find out if the driver was drunk.

Colors tweeted about the incident: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of 2 of our #Mahakaali actors, Gagan Kang and Arijit Lavania who tragically lost their lives. RIP."

Nikita Sharma, who plays Goddess Lakshmi on the show, told indianexpress.com: "We are yet to come to terms with the fact that they are no more. Just a few hours back we shot together and suddenly this news came this morning soon after they left."

She added: "Gagan's mother had been really unwell and I hope God gives them strength to overcome the loss. We are too numb to even react at the moment."

According to a Times of India report: "Police said that they are awaiting autopsy report to determine if the driver was drunk. A case of accidental death has been registered”.
