Madhuri Dixit to play Sridevi’s role in ‘Shiddat’, Janhvi is thankful

Madhuri Dixit will step into Sridevi’s role in Karan Johar’s ‘Shiddat’. Janhvi is thankful to Madhuri. She informed in her tweet that ‘Shiddat’ was very close to her mom’s heart.

Thanking Madhuri, Janhvi wrote in her Instagram account, "Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film...”. She posted a picture of the two actresses from the sets of a dance reality show along with the message.

Karan Johar was about to shoot the movie with Sridevi in a month or two but the untimely demise of Sridevi pushed the project behind.

However, Madhuri Dixit is now approached for the role and Madhuri feels honoured to play the role as she feels that it will be a befitting way to pay tribute to Sridevi.

‘Shiddat’ is a multi-starrer film featuring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film will be helmed by Abhishek Varman of '2 States' fame and it also marks Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar’s fourth collaboration after 'Student of the Year', 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'.
