Check Photos: Madhuri, Anil set the stage on fire
Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor had been a hit pair in the 1980s and 1990s. They have co-acted in more than half a dozen films. Madhuri’s first commercial hit was her second film “Tezaab” that starred Anil Kapoor and the association has been since then.
After marriage Madhuri had shifted base to the USA and thus was not seen much on the Indian ground. Now that she has re-located to India with her family, she is seen more often than not.
Recently at the Golden Petal Award that is sponsored by Colors was held on Monday at MMRDA Grounds. There the duo- Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor- were seen performing on stage to relive the memories from their films that released in the past.
They performed on the song “My Name is Lakhan” from Ram-Lakhan and as well as on “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” that originally starred Manisha Koirala alongside Anil Kapoor. The two grabbed eye-balls and mesmerized the audiences as they danced.
When Anil Kapoor was asked about his long-standing friendship with Madhuri he said, “It is a great feeling to perform live and collaborate with my favorite co-actor after years. Madhuri is not only the best actor but also the most wonderful human being I have worked with.”
Madhuri too reiterated fond words for him saying, “Anil is a very hardworking and talented actor and still looks the way he did when we worked together in Parinda!” Phew! Even after over two decades Anil still looks the same!”
However, if we go back a few months back, things had not been the same between the two. Madhuri Dixit was offered to play the role of Sonam Kapoor’s mother in a film that was to be Anil Kapoor’s Indian edition of “Freaky Friday”. Initially Madhuri agreed to play the role but then backed out citing date issues. Madhuri’s sudden refusal angered Anil Kapoor and the two did not speak over a year. Even when Madhuri relocated to India she did not call up Anil.
However, their “Parinda” director Vidhu Vinod Chopra played truce-maker between the two. An insider had revealed, “Vidhu spoke to Anil and Madhuri. He asked them to let bygones be. And both agreed, realizing that they were angry over a rather trivial issue.”
However, that all is well again
between the both of them and that they have let bygones be bygones was
definitely evident at this award function.
