Madhavan, Kangana reunite for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ sequel

The hit jodi of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ team up for the sequel of the 2011 blockbuster ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ directed by Aanand L Rai. Earlier the makers decided to cast Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma instead of the original star casts but later they had a change of mind and finally signed the original pair R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut. The pair of the two considered to be an odd couple but they their chemistry sparked magic.

‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is a love story of a simple NRI and an UP lively girl Kangana who does not believe in arrange marriage. She wants to marry  Jimmy Shergill but later falls for R Madhavan’s charm. Aanand L Rai is working on the sequel and the film is likely to go on floor early next year.

“There is a sequel, its in the system...the plan is still on. I don't know when it will go on floors. If its happening it will happen with same star cast -- Madhavan and Kangana will go ahead with the franchise. The film is incomplete without them," Rai told reporters here last night.

Aanand’s latest movie ‘Raanjhanaa’ that has Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush in the lead rocked at the box-office and he said that he has no plans to make a sequel out of it. "For me the film is over. I don't think I can make a sequel to it now... whatever we wanted to tell we have told it all," he said.

The director is busy with his next project but he refuses to divulge any details.
