Trailer: Watch Dhanush turns a ‘slum don’ for 'Maari'

The teaser of the Tamil film ‘Maari’ had hiked the anticipation of cinema goersand the film is now out with its trailer video. The action comedy features Dhanush in the titular role of a mafia chieftain.

The ‘Raanjhanaa’ star’s look in the film with his twirled moustache, dark round rimmed sunglasses and blingy chains has become a huge hit. The dhoti-clad ruffian smokes and walks in a way that will surely remind one of his stylish father-in-law Rajanikanth.

The actor-singer-producer took to micro-blogging site Twitter to unveil the two-minute trailer of his soon-to-be-released film. “Here we go !! #maari trailer :) hope you guys like it #tharalocal #dna #july17 #donudonudonu #seekramvarom,” Dhanush posted.

While the with its 30-second teaser that was released on May 21 was only about the look of the lead actor, the trailer gives a hint of the story.

The local ruffian Maari is feared by his enemies and even the police don’t want to meddle in his affairs. But the goon falls in love with a homely girly played by Kajal Aggarwal.

The music for the Balaji Mohan directorial has been given by Anirudh Ravichander. Produced by R Sarath Kumar, Radikaa Sarath Kumar and Listin Stephen, ‘Maari’ is slated to release on July 17.

Dhanush’s previous releases ‘VIP’ and ‘Anegan’ had a successful run at the box office and going by the trailer of ‘Maari’, he will surely strike a hat-trick.
