2 States: Watch Arjun highly smitten with Alia Bhatt in ‘Locha-e-Ulfat’

In the ‘2 States’ movie song ‘Locha-e-Ulfat’, Arjun Kapoor is seen as a distracted lover and Alia Bhatt plays a gorgeous girl.

The song, in between goes — ‘Yeh comedy hai, ya tragedy hai?’ — basically a love-struck Arjun struggling to understand the mystery of love. He calls it ‘Locha-e-Ulfat’, that keeps him distracted almost always. When Alia comes and announces that she has a scored B-plus grade, he’s busy staring at her skimpy shorts. Arjun sitting at a table across her and sipping tea can’t keep his eyes off her and somehow manages to hide his discomfort.

He is so much in love that her little gestures mean the world to him.

The song ‘Locha-e-Ulfat’ is sung by Benny Dayal and composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

And the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya goes:

“Eklauta mera dil tha, bhola bhaala simple tha / Tujhse main takraya, sar phira ho gaya / Mujhe pyaar laga jo, tujhe laga bhai-chara /Armaan to jaage, main magar so gaya…Ban ke museebat, peechhe padi hai / Yeh comedy hai, ya tragedy hai / Kya hona tha kyun ho gaya…Locha-e-Ulfat ho gaya.”

The setting of the song is a college campus where a Punjabi guy Krish (played by Arjun) falls head over heels for a South Indian girl Ananya (played by Alia). The film ‘2 States’ tells the story of their romance and struggle to over the cultural, familial, geographical differences to get married.

Problems surface after the couple decide to get married, since Krish and Ananya come from different states of the country and have drastically different backgrounds. There is more trouble because they decide only to get married once their respective parents agree to it. The clash of the difference in cultures becomes a huge obstacle when the couples’ parents meet each other.

The film ‘2 States’ is directed by Abhishek Varman. The story is based on the 2009 bestselling novel of the same name by Chetan Bhagat and adapted as screenplay by Abhishek Varman. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar.

Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut with Habib Faisal’s film ‘Ishaqzaade’. His latest release was the Box-office hit film ‘Gunday’, which released on Valentine’s Day this year.
