Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington’s commits suicide, celebs mourn

Chester Bennington, the lead singer of the rock band Linkin Park, hanged himself to death on Thursday at his residence. He was 41. At 9 am on Thursday, his body was found hanging at his Palos Verdes Estates residence. Investigation authorities, however, concluded that Chester Bennington committed suicide.

"It is being handled as a possible suicide," said Brian Elias, chief of operations at the coroner's office.

Shockingly, Chester Bennington ended his life on his late friend Chris Cornell’s birthday, who hanged himself in May. The news of his death was confirmed by his fellow band member Mike Shinoda in his sober tweet, "Shocked and heartbroken, but it's true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one."

His shocking demise came as a big shock for the celebs and his fans.

Just hours before his passing away, Linkin Park had released a video for its latest single, 'Talking To Myself’.

Bennington fought against drugs and alcohol since early age. He got addicted to such things as he had a very tough childhood and had to cope with his parents’ divorce. Born and brought up in Arizona, Bennington said that a family friend abused him starting at the age of seven.

"I was getting beaten up and being forced to do things I didn't want to do. It destroyed my self-confidence," he told the British music site Team Rock in 2014.

"Like most people, I was too afraid to say anything. I didn't want people to think I was gay or that I was lying," he said.
