‘Laxmmi Bomb’ poster: Akshay Kumar’s transgender look impresses

On Saturday, Akshay Kumar unveiled his first look of ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ on social media and it is quite appealing. Akshay has tried something different this time. He plays a transgender and the poster shows him applying kajal in his eyes.

He tweeted: “Bringing you one bomb of a story,#LaxmmiBomb starring @Advani_Kiara & yours truly! Bursting in cinemas on 5th June,2020. Fox Star Studios Presents. A Cape of Good Films Production in association with Shabinaa Entertainment & Tusshar Entertainment House. Directed by Raghava Lawrence”.

The poster reminds us of Paresh Rawal in 'Tamanna'.

Akshay Kumar will share screen space with KIara Advani in ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ which is a Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Kanchana’. The film will be directed by Raghava Lawrence, who directed and acted in the original one. Reportedly, the film will go on floors by this month end. Akshay and Kiara just wrapped up the shooting of their first time together ‘Good News’.

A source close to the development said, “Kiara has almost been confirmed for the role, and now only the final formalities are being worked out. Akshay is currently busy with Good News (starring Kareena Kapoor Khan), post which he will get on this project. The remake has been on Akshay’s mind for a long time now and he’s happy that finally things are falling into place.”

Producer Sabina Khan confirmed casting Kiara for the ‘Kanchana’ remake, "Yes, we have signed Kiara for the Kanchana remake."

Another source said, “While Akshay plays the protagonist who gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender, Kiara will portray the superstar's girlfriend in the movie. Although the female lead did not have a significant role in the original version, Kiara will enjoy a substantial part in the adaptation. The script too has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi film audience."

The report further states, “Producers Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor picked up the remake rights last year, following which the scripting team has been hard at work to give it a North Indian flavour. Lawrence will helm the Hindi offering.”
